Day 2

It's only Day Two!

I realized two things today. I'm addicted to eating and I'm addicted to spending money. I had a crappy day at work and I was feeling a bit down-and-out and the desire to eat some junk food and/or buy something was overwhelming. I managed to find something that'll satisfy both urges but more on that below.

Finances
1 - Bottle of diet soda: $1.25
I had a meeting at DTRA and was thirsty as all hell.

2 - Two adult movie tickets: $18.00
Ah...the movies. The best way to kill some time without spending too much money. In theory this was a great idea. However, we walked out forty minutes into The Heartbreak Kid and that left me feeling like I wasted eighteen bucks. Damn you Farrelly Brothers!

Food
1 - Medium-sized bowl of Cheerios, skim milk, medium banana, and a glass of vegetable juice.
Variety! I really wanted to make eggs this morning but cereal is just so easy.

2 - Handful of pumpkin seeds.
I purchased plenty of bulk nuts at Whole Foods. Pumpkin seeds, hazelnuts, Brazil nuts, almonds, cashews, pistachios, walnuts, and almonds. I figured this'll allow me to mix up my nut intake so I don't get too bored. I make two-to-three little bags each night and carry them in my book bag for snacking.

3 - Handful of wasabi peas.
4 - Roast beef sandwich (provolone, Dijon mustard, Seeduction bread).
5 - One jelly bean
Seriously, just one jelly bean. I didn't recognize the color and wanted to see what it was. It tasted like a mochaccino.

6 - Handful of mixed nuts and dried fruits.
7 - Half of a chicken breast, a small serving of left-over risotto, and a serving of pasta with a touch of tomato sauce.
8 - Small movie-theater sized popcorn.
Popcorn is a great "Losing Weight" snack in moderation. Movie theater popcorn, not so much. But it's better than eating a donut or something. I think.

Workout
1 - 6 1-minute sprints @ 7mph over 12 minutes with a 1-degree incline.
The incline was accidental, I didn't realize it until I was on my fourth sprint.

2 - Superset. 2 sets of 8 chin-ups and 1 set of 6 with a 100lb assist and 3 sets of 10 dips with a 100lb assist.
I'm not too ashamed of the 100lb assist. I weight 230, after all, so with the assist it's like lifting 130lbs - not too bad for a guy that hasn't done a chin-up in a long, long time. I was hurting, too. That last set, the one where I only did 6 chin-ups, that was genuine "body giving up". I tried to do number seven for about twenty seconds. The dips were easier but I kept finding that I was shrugging my shoulders so my "easy" assessment is skewed somewhat.

3 - Superset. 10 weighted step-ups for each leg (25lb dumbbells in each hand) and 8 dumbbell curls for each arm with 25lbs.
I keep wanting to do more weights but my body was dead at this point. I think it's going to take a week or two before I can comfortably add another superset. I plan on doing the 35-minute, 5-day a week workout plan instead of the extended one-hour one. Most articles I've read seem to think the former is better. Besides, that's what Jason Statham does (except seven days a week) and he's quickly becoming my friggin' hero.

Good job on the workout and not spending too much.

I also went to see Heartbreak Kid and it was just plain bad.

Yeah, you know it's a crappy movie when half-way through it you find yourself thinking that you'd rather be doing work.

I really did consider leaving, but I tried to just relax and enjoy the a/c. I was naive.
